Imagine an elegant evening of candlelight, pleasant music, champagne and all the dreamy chocolate desserts you could ever desire. There you have it – the McFarland Chocolate Fest! All proceeds of this marvelous affair benefit the historic Larson House in the heart of McFarland.
The best bakers in McFarland AND confectioner, Coz Skaife of YourBakeShop.com, our featured baker, tempted us with their prized offerings where the major ingredient is CHOCOLATE!
The Chocolate Fest was held the first Saturday in November - on November 3rd in 2012 - from 7 to 9 PM at the Curling Club, 4802 Marsh Road, McFarland. The silent auction tables were very popular and the bidding was brisk. Live music provided by some talented musicians - Terry Peterson on the keyboard, strolling violinist Joe Dever and operatic singer --. Ankora coffee was donated by the McFarland House Coffee Shop, apple cider by Door Creek Orchard, and champagne was donated by Bruce and Jackie and an anonymous donor. New this year was wine available for purchase by the glass.
Thanks to Jeff Way of The Diamond Boutique for designing a lovely diamond necklace worth $1,500 for the first prize in our raffle to benefit the historic Larson House. Second prize is $250 in cash. Raffle tickets are $10 or three for $25. Tickets are on sale at McFarland State Bank and the Diamond Boutique through Friday, November 30th. The drawing will be held on Saturday, December 1, at the Diamond Boutique during Christmas in the Village. You need not be present to win.
